Welcome to My Blog!
Mother of 4 | Pharmacist | Maternity & Newborn Photographer Helsinki|

Hello and Welcome! 🌿
Most people know me as Silvia Stamati Photography—the photographer behind timeless family memories. Through my camera, I capture love, emotions, and the beautiful milestones of family life. But behind the lens, there is so much more to my story, and today I’d love to introduce myself.
My name is Silvia, and I am originally from the Republic of Moldova. Above all, I am a proud mother of four energetic boys who inspire me every single day and have taught me some of life’s most valuable lessons.
Photography became my passion after the birth of my second child. What started as a creative outlet gradually became my profession, and today photography is my full-time career. I specialize in maternity, newborn, and family photography, preserving precious moments that families will cherish for generations.
Newborn photography sessions usually last between three and five hours. During those hours, something wonderful happens. It’s not just about taking beautiful photographs—it’s about listening, connecting, and sharing real conversations. We talk about motherhood, breastfeeding, sleepless nights, childhood illnesses, parenting challenges, and everything that comes with welcoming a new baby into the family.

Over the years, many mothers have asked me questions they couldn’t easily find answers to:
1. When do I need formula milk?
2. What is the correct position for breastfeeding my baby?
3. How many hours should a baby sleep?
4. Is it normal for a baby to have eye discharge?
5. How do I care for the umbilical stump?
6. How can I tell if my baby has colic?
7. What can I do if my baby cries a lot?
8. How do I recognize signs of dehydration in a baby?
9. When is it normal for the first teeth to appear?
10. How do I know if my baby is getting enough milk?

Those conversations made me realize something important: during my photography sessions, I am not only working as a photographer—I am also using my knowledge as a pharmacist to help parents better understand common health concerns and feel more confident in caring for their children.
Pharmacy is actually my first profession. I graduated as a pharmacist in the Republic of Moldova and am currently in the process of obtaining professional recognition of my qualifications in Finland. I have several years of pharmacy experience in Moldova and have also completed practical training in a Finnish pharmacy. This journey has given me valuable insight into both healthcare systems and the differences between them.
My personal experience as a mother has also shaped me profoundly. Three of my children were born in Finland, and like many parents, we’ve faced numerous challenges along the way: oral thrush, mouth ulcers, atopic eczema, prolonged viral infections, infant constipation, ingrown nails, tonsillitis, acute bronchitis requiring hospitalization, and many other situations that parents know all too well.
Throughout these experiences, my pharmaceutical education has been invaluable. It has helped me understand symptoms, provide appropriate first aid when needed, communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, and make informed decisions for my family.
This Blog was born from those experiences—and from the many conversations I have had with parents during my photography sessions.
My goal is to create a trusted space where parents can find reliable, evidence-informed information presented in a simple and practical way. Here, I will share professional knowledge, personal experiences, practical parenting tips, and insights into raising children in Finland.
Attention!!!
Please note that the information shared on this blog is intended for educational purposes and should never replace an examination or diagnosis by a healthcare professional. Every child is unique, and when necessary, medical evaluation by a doctor is always essential.
From pregnancy to newborn and beyond beautiful memories for every stage of your family`s journey
With love,
Silvia Stamati Photography Helsinki
